Holiday in the Finnish Forests!
The Loghouse Aittokoski was first time mentionned in the taxpapers of City of Lieksa in 1930. 1970, 1997 and 2005 expanded renovations were done and since autumn 2017 we are proud owners of the loghouse and yard.
The mainhouse has approx. 150 m2 and gives space for up to 10 persons: 2 small sleeping rooms with 2 beds in each, kitchen and a huge living room with big fireplace, table, couch and - a bit separated - 6 beds (of which 1 bunkbed). The kitchen is equipped with electric stove/oven, a fireplace to cook more traditionally. Running water is only available in the anteroom of the main house via an electric ground water pump. Heating is done the traditional way with wood, but there is electric light. The sauna is in a separate building, nearby the little pond which belongs to the yard. The yard has 2800 m2 and there are no neighbours nearby. The dry toilet is 20 m from the main building. There is a big green yard between main building and sauna, perfect for relaxing, as play-ground for kids or field for different ballgames.
Our holiday house Aittokoski is only 400 m from the rapids of river Jongunjoki with the same name. Also longdistance-hiking-trail "Karhunpolku" (Bears Trail) is passing by not far from the house. The house and area is perfect for active nature lovers who like the silent life in the middle of the forests. The house has access by normal cars and dogs are of course welcome.
Bikes and canoes are available if wished so.
There are matresses, pillows and blankets in the house. You can take your own bedlinen or rent them from us. Final cleaning is done by you; vacuum cleaner and cleaning tools/liquids are available.
The Aittokoski cottage is located only 400 m from the rapids of the same name in the Jongunjoki River. The long-distance hiking trail "Karhunpolku" (bear trail) also passes close to the house. It is therefore ideal for nature lovers who want to be active in the middle of nature and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is easily accessible by car. Dogs are of course welcome.
We can also provide bicycles and canoes on request.
The house has mattresses, blankets and pillows. Bed linen can be rented or you can bring your own. The final cleaning is done by the tenants. Vacuum cleaners and cleaning agents are available.

The Holiday House Aittokoski can be rented between 01.05.2024 - 30.11.2024
Included in rental rate:
- firewood, water, electricity, toilet-emptying, final cleaning
- "meet & greet" with one of our team-members on arrival day
Rental starts at 15h00 and ends at 12h00 (swept clean)
Rental rate:
up to 5 persons: € 100.--/night - from 6th person € 20.-- extra for each additional person.
